I'm David Suh!
I'm a portrait photographer living my dream of doing what I love in Sacramento. I'm always on a mission to provide value to others whether that means providing a service, writing a blog post, or interviewing other inspiring individuals!
Kirstie’s session started with her sister and mother who wanted to gift her something special for graduation. Kirstie juggles work, being a full-time student, and a mom and I knew we were going to have a special session. With Kirstie’s session, she just wanted to explore and feel good which is where I brought up the idea of shooting in a kiddie pool with water. With no hesitation, she was excited about it and just like that I went to Amazon to order a large kiddie pool – which in hindsight was a tad bit too big. Kirstie also brought in BEAUTIFUL wardrobe that she rented from Rent the Runway. I cannot emphasize how important it is to invest in outfits and Rent the Runway is a PERFECT place to do that for the shoot. If it’s your first month with them, you pay $100 to rent 4 outfits (everything to full glamour to everyday work outfit) that you can rotate anytime you want. *This is totally not sponsored, it’s simply been a game changer for my clients* But without further to do, here’s what Kirstie had to say about her session.
What do you love most about your new portraits?
“I love that the portraits capture who I am, and I feel like they represent me and all I want to be. It is nice to know that future me will be able to look back at these photos and relive who I was, remember what went into these photos, and why I took them.”
“I learned to appreciate and celebrate certain milestones. This was a gift from my parents and sister and without them, I would not have done the portrait session with David. I would not have appreciated (as much as I do now) the events that got me to where I am today.”
“I liked how comfortable David made me feel during the shoot. I was self-conscious with my ability to “pose”, look a certain way, and with some outfits that I chose. Looking back, it makes me happy that there was no judgment and makes me love the portraits much more.”
“David was really friendly and outgoing, and he knew how to effectively take portraits of people. It’s more than just showing up ready to go and saying “cheese”. He hires a makeup artist to do your hair and makeup, poses you, and gets to know you to be able to give you the best product. David is worth the price and he will deliver in giving you the portraits that you deserve.”
