Jennifer is a mom of two, a blogger, and a UC Davis student with a full-time job, yet she has this incredible relationship with her children. Jennifer wanted to do a mother-daughter shoot that captured her motherly bond with her daughter and we planned everything from glam with flower bed to a classic t-shirt and jeans.
For the styling, I already knew Jennifer would have it down because I mean take a look at her styling and aesthetics for her blog (btw you should totally click here and follow for her if you’re a mom):
The way she styles her clothes with her daughter is incredibly adorable and I fully trusted her to bring fantastic pieces. And guess what. She nailed it. She brings 4 beautiful Rent the Runway pieces and matching pieces for her daughter Rori.
What do you love most about your new portraits?
“I love that I am able to share these portraits with my children, especially my daughter, Rori. She will have these portraits as a keepsake to always remember me in this beautiful and radiant way.”

“I discovered that I am actually very uncomfortable in front of the camera (ha – considering I blog and take pictures daily).. but I also discovered that even when things are uncomfortable, getting out of that comfort zone allowed me to create something so beautiful. I always smile in my photos because I feel like I look my absolute best when I smile, but through these portraits, I realized that it wasn’t my smile that made me feel beautiful. My body posture, my attitude, my personality, and my eyes – all of these told a story about myself and this is what made each portrait stunning!”
“My favorite part about working together would be the entire team. David is amazing and I love that he helped me find poses that complimented me. Maggie was so great with my daughter, Rori and just really made us feel like family while laughing the day away. Sean was such a great videographer that I didn’t even notice him sneaking around, but he captured EVERY SINGLE MOMENT (mind blown). Veronica was so talented and made me feel like a million bucks when I got off her vanity station chair, and she went out of her way to even curl Rori’s hair and put a little bit of lipstick on for her. It was such a great mommy and daughter experience. This team was phenomenal!”

“It’s not about vanity. This entire experience is about emotions, finding yourself, having memories for yourself and for your children to hold on to, re-discovering yourself and finding that love for yourself.”
