I remember having the first call with Molly over the phone and getting to know her. She wasn’t sure about which direction to go with the shoot yet but she knew she really wanted to do it. She told me she doesn’t usually pamper herself or dress up to go out and I knew I had to make sure this was a spectacular experience for her. Molly ended up bringing an incredible variety of outfits. She picked up on everything we talked about at the consult and thought about a variety of colors, sleeve lengths, fabrics, and styles.
Molly was incredible to photograph. Her dance and martial arts background definitely played a role in the way moved naturally and she had this vintage vibe that was so beautiful!
Here is what Molly had to say about the shoot and experience.
What do you love most about your new portraits?
“David captured a range of moods and each image felt unique and powerful. It’s wild to see myself captured in a way I’ve always felt but never outwardly expressed.”
“One thing is that I found out I naturally move in a way that exudes confidence, and I never had seen that caught in the moment on film before. Feeling confident and looking confident is more connected than I realized before.”
“How empowering David, Veronica, and Maggie were! I felt like I had a hype crew with me on set, they were super enthusiastic and encouraging.”
“Whatever is holding you back from doing it, trust me I had reservations about it all (distance, money, unsure of my ability to photograph well, etc.). The crew is so easy to work with and will help you along the way to build you up, both emotionally and in technique with regards to what looks good on film. They know what they’re doing and want you to know how beautiful you really are.”
